Fire and Rescue Training Centre was formally known as Civil Aviation Training Centre; and it was established by UNDP and ICAO in collaboration with the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania since 1985. Fire and Rescue Training Centre is situated at Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere International Airport which was formerly known as Dar es Salaam International Airport – Termina. Establishment of the Fire and Rescue Training Centre for the training of Fire and Rescue Personnel, aiming at self sufficiency in meeting long term needs, and others including expansion of air transport operations at improved levels of efficiency

INTERNATIONAL COURSES
Fire and Rescue Training Centre offered National and International Courses. The International courses which is not offered because of various problems such as; lack of Training facilities and Fire Drills. These courses are recognisable by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and is offered to Airports fire and Rescue personnel; and these courses is registered by International Standard Organisation (ISO) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to be offered at the College.
