The Arusha Project is a coalition of non-governmental organizations and grass-roots initiatives committed to the fight against HIV/AIDS and gender inequality in Northern Tanzania.
Collectively, we provide a spectrum of care for more than 800 families affected by HIV/AIDS, from drop-in and case management for street children in urban Arusha to vocational training for Female Genital Cutters in Monduli Juu, a rural Maasai village. Our pilot microfinance program provides loans and business management training to individual women who are either HIV-positive or the primary caregiver for someone living with HIV/AIDS.
