Kilimanjaro Mountain Won Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction
Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, has been awarded by World Travel Awards (WTAs). the 2017 ‘Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ in the gala held at Kigali, Rwanda.
Kilimanjaro National Park, which host the mountain is managed by Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) and one of the country’s 17 national parks under TANAPA.
The Mountain retained the title for the fourth time since 2013
The other awards are outlined below:
- The Diamonds La Gemma Dell’Est of Zanzibar awarded ‘Africa’s leading All-Inclusive Resort 2017 title.
- The Diamonds La Gemma Dell’Est of Zanzibar also awarded the ‘Africa’s Leading Beach Resort 2017’ title.
- The ‘Four Seasons’ of Serengeti was awarded ‘Africa’s Leading Safari Lodge,’ title.
- The Thanda Island of the Shungimbili Island of Mafia District in the Indian Ocean, awarded ‘Africa’s leading Luxury Island’ title.
- And Beyond Mnemba Island Lodge was awarded ‘The ‘Africa’s Leading Private Island Resort,’ title.
- Abercrombie and Kent was awarded ‘Africa’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator’ title.
- And Beyond, the luxury lodges’ operator, awarded ‘Africa’s Leading Conservation Company 2017, title.
- Singita Game Reserves was awarded ‘Africa’s Leading Game Reserve Brand’ title.
- Kenya Airways awarded ‘The Africa’s leading ‘Business Class’ airline, title.
- Ethiopian Airways, awarded The Continent’s largest carrier, title topped the ‘Africa’s leading economy class airline category.
- ‘Fast Jet’ was awarded “Africa’s Leading Low-Cost Airline.” title.
- Rwanda, awarded ‘Africa’s Leading Destination 2017,’ title.
- South Africa’s Cape-Town International Airport was awarded the continent’s leading airport in 2017 title.
